Northern Star has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Health and Safety Advisor to join our team at the KCGM. The Senior Health and Safety Advisor reports to the Health and Safety Superintendent, and the primary role is to maintain the Mine Health and Safety Management Plan focusing on risk management awareness and compliance. This is a residential position based in Kalgoorlie with a family-friendly 8:6 roster working 11-hour days, ensuring you can be home every night! Here's what awaits you: Ensure you act in accordance with the site Mine Health and Safety Management Plan requirements and those of the Company. Review site risk management documentation incorporating legislative requirements, Company objectives, standards, policies and the capture of risk mitigation control measures. Promote the Critical Risk Management Program across site including training, system access, system reporting and trends. Reporting and analysis of all critical risk data to support site compliance and KPI's. Monitor quality of site Critical Risk Management activities including the scheduling Verifications and Supervisor coaching. Review the site Principal Mining Hazard Management Plans and report on compliance to each applicable Principal Mining Hazards. Facilitate ChemAlert updates. Conduct training as required. Complete document control reviews and updates. Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and workplace inspections across the business. Investigate events and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Oversee the implementation of health and safety initiatives and drive continuous improvement in safety performance. Review injury classifications and injury reporting in consultation with the H&S Superintendent to drive continuous improvement in safety performance. To thrive in this role, you'll need: Recognised tertiary qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety. Minimum of 3 years in a senior safety advisor or similar role. Minimum 3 years relevant experience in the mining industry. Detailed working knowledge of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act and Regulations.
