With an exciting expansion and modernization of their resurfacing fleet, ARTC is investing in cutting-edge, high-speed Plasser resurfacing and tamping machines to enhance their operations.
The Role:
The Asset Services team is responsible for operations and maintenance of ARTC's resurfacing fleet and other heavy plant assets. The Heavy Plant Operations team conducts both preventative and reactive mechanised maintenance activities, as well as supporting construction for planned capital upgrades across NSW, QLD, VIC, SA, and WA.
We are seeking Mechanical Trades for our position of Technical Support Officer within the Heavy Plant crew. In this role, you will carry out all manner of inspection, servicing, scheduled maintenance, and breakdown repairs of Heavy Plant assets, in addition to operating heavy plant and equipment as required.
You will: Test machinery and ensure effective performance of core duties;Advise and assist Plant staff and Work Group Leader of potential issues affecting plant safety and/or performance;Appropriately manage tools, mechanical spares and consumable stock provided;Assist electricians, maintenance crews and operators with fault diagnosis and repair;Provide input into plant repair, upgrade and overhaul decisions;Carry out approved modifications to Heavy Plant;Maintain operational control of the Heavy Plant assets, when functioning in an operator role, during travel and work. Provide clear operational direction and support to other operational personnel as required;Supervise maintenance contractors as required;Develop the trade skills and knowledge of apprentices through mentoring, coaching and education in an inclusive environment;Complete all necessary plant related paperwork required to meet regulatory requirements and maintain system integrity;Participate in projects and undertake other duties as requested.Please note:
Based in Goulburn NSW, these are field-based positions within a migratory team, requiring significant frequent travel and variable shift rosters across Australia. Living in Goulburn is not required, but you must reside within a 4-hour driving distance (travel payments apply).
