Full Time Fixed Term Position - October 2025 Band 5 - Salary Range $78,646 to $90,563 per annum + 11.5% Super + ADO Salary offered will depend on level of skills and experience. The Opportunity Melton City Council is seeking an energetic and self-motivated person to assume the role of Debt Recovery Officer at one of the fastest growing and exciting regions in Australia. The successful candidate will be flexible, team oriented and have a strong customer focus with a can-do approach to workload. Key Responsibilities Ensure that all rate accounts in arrears are followed up with a reminder notice in accordance with the current policies and practices. Initiate legal action when required in accordance with the current policies and practices and liaise with Council's debt collectors in the recovery process. Process Financial Hardship Applications in a timely manner and recommend appropriate actions and write-offs for Finance Manager's approval. Pay invoices from service providers. About You To be successful in this role you will have the following: Degree or Diploma in administration or a related field with some experience or a lesser formal qualification with relevant debt recovery experience. Experience using document management systems. Excellent knowledge of revenue collection relating to local government and other relevant acts and regulations is desirable. Good working knowledge of property and rating processes and systems.
