We are seeking a Director of Business Development and Capture with experience in the federal and military space (must have) who is local to the office and willing to work in person during their onboarding period (expected to span several months). The company offers a wide range of hardware, including end-user devices, rugged mobile computers, and networking equipment. With a state-of-the-art facility and a defined five-year growth strategy, the company aims to solidify and expand its market presence. POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Director of Business Development and Capture will be a key member of the Client and Enterprise Solution Group, reporting to the Vice President. Responsibilities include executing business growth strategies, developing partnerships, and supporting proposal efforts. The role requires strong industry knowledge, relationship-building skills, and strategic planning abilities. RESPONSIBILITIES: Preparation: Study the company's market strategy and develop an implementation plan. Engage with internal teams, partners, and customers to understand the company’s value proposition. Gain knowledge of industry ecosystems, key relationships, and regulatory requirements. Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities across federal, military, and commercial sectors. Develop and maintain a pipeline of viable opportunities. Establish relationships with value-added resellers (VARs) and system integrators. Influence customer requirements and acquisition strategies to create favorable conditions. Work closely with partners to align business strategies and enhance competitive positioning. Assess opportunities and provide bid/no-bid recommendations. Capture Management: Drive opportunity capture strategies and ensure execution. Advocate for a strong “win” theme throughout proposal efforts. Engage stakeholders to enhance the company’s positioning for contract awards. Leverage market insights and business intelligence to create strategic advantages. Proposal Development: Contribute to proposal writing, reviews, and strategy development. Ensure proposals align with company strengths and customer requirements. QUALIFICATIONS: Strong understanding of the federal IT reseller/integrator market, including key OEMs and partners. Demonstrated business development experience with a track record of success in capturing product-based service solutions. Established relationships within OEMs, system integrators, and government agencies. Knowledge of computer technologies, including hardware, software, networking, and enterprise solutions. Familiarity with government procurement practices, including FAR/DFAR regulations and major contract vehicles. Strong work ethic, hands-on leadership, and persistence in pursuing business objectives. Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to prioritize high-value opportunities. Strong networking, communication, and negotiation skills. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and CRM tools. Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, science, or engineering. Willingness to work on-site and travel as needed.
