Our Geotechnical & Hydrogeology team in Tasmania has a great opportunity for a Senior Geochemist to join us in Hobart in a role that provides a balance of technical work, field work, mentoring and business development.

Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
1. Oversite of field investigations, managing third parties & sub-contractors, providing guidance and technical advice.
2. Geo-environmental assessments of mine waste through the asset life cycle from approvals to closure.
3. Defining the scope, carrying out investigations, and reporting on findings of Acid and Metalliferous Drainage (AMD) and Acid Sulfate Soils (ASS) projects, as well as preparing AMD/ASS management plans for waste rock and tailings.
4. Designing technical solutions and leading project teams to deliver solutions that meet the needs of clients, coupled with acting as the project manager on various projects.
5. Interacting with clients through pursuit, tendering and delivery phases of projects, along with opportunities to address business development tasks in our relationship-oriented business.
6. Providing technical mentoring for junior team members to build and develop their skills to ensure the continuing success of the team.
What would you bring to the team?
1. A Bachelor’s degree or higher in geochemistry, geology or a similar field.
2. Experience in AMD/ASS investigations and management for civil and mining projects.
3. Knowledge of applicable standards (Australian AMD/ASS guidelines and GARD guidelines) and familiarity with industry best practices.
4. Experience with interpreting static and kinetic AMD testing (NAG, NAPP, ASLP/LEAF leaching, KNAG, ABCC, column leach) and classifying material accordingly.
5. A track record for delivering exceptional client experience and an eye for business development opportunities.
