ABOUT THE ROLE In this newly created position, the National Operations Manager will be the critical link between the three strategically placed Distribution Centres (Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane); the role is based in Melbourne.
The position will lead a team of 3 direct and over 50 indirect reports, taking control of 20,000 sqm of warehouse space across the 3 sites.
The position runs the Distribution Centre operations, develops process efficiencies, identifies continuous improvements/projects, and leads safety.
The autonomous role will contribute to developing and implementing a positive culture, refining SOPs, developing reporting metrics, and vendor relationships at the top of the project list.
Experience in these areas is essential; previous experience working on a national profile is imperative.
DUTIES • Responsible for all 3 Distribution Centre including Operations, Budgeting and P&L on a national scale• Support, guide, mentor and train direct report managers with continuous improvement initiatives• Ensure all policies and procedures are updated, maintained and delivered to staff• Achieve and exceed operational, strategic planning and budget forecasting targets• Work closely with key internal stakeholders to deliver on agreed objectives SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE • Demonstrated experience managing across multiple Distribution Centres on a national footprint, including complete budgeting and P&L responsibility• Demonstrated examples of Continuous Improvement project success in new Distribution Centres• Sound knowledge of current WHS responsibilities with the ability to update and roll out safety programs• Experience in setting up and developing Distribution Centres is an advantage• Exposure to working in Dangerous Goods and CartonCloud WMS an advantage COMPANY CULTURE The company supports individuals and encourages personal development and growth for all their employees.
