Qualifications & experience
* Demonstrated experience as a Disability Support Worker
* Certificate III Individual Support or relevant (or currently enrolled)
* Australian drivers licence (minimum P2)
* Recent Police Clearance
* First Aid Certificate
* CPR
* NDIS Worker Screening Check
* NDIS Worker Orientation Module
* Working With Children Check
* Up to date with your COVID19 vaccinations
* Reliable smart phone with data
* Show a strong willingness to learn new skills
* Flexibility around client commitments
* Able to navigate and adapt in different/challenging situations
* Ability to prioritise tasks to best meet client needs
* Time management skills and ability to plan ahead
Tasks & responsibilities
* Make a difference through providing compassionate care, building trust and taking the lead to support individuals to live in residential home
* Enhance the lives of our participants by supporting them to live safely and with dignity at home
* Provide services such as personal care, use of manual handling equipment, welcome companionship, light household duties, medication reminders, and transport for appointments, shopping, and social outings
* There are various group based recreational activities both at the center and in the community which you will be a part of.
* This role is fast-faced and requires someone that can work with multiple clients and has a high level of initiative.
* Work with people to access services and activities in the community.
* Work as part of a multicultural and diverse team to ensure continuity and consistency of support to participants
* Adhere to administrative procedures including data collection and maintenance of participant records.
* A reliable, punctual and mature attitude with demonstrated ability to work with limited direct supervision.
* An understanding of the importance of personal and professional boundaries, privacy and confidentiality, ethical behaviour, policies and procedures.
