Apply now Job no: 502766Work type: PermanentLocation: South BrisbaneCategories: Registered Nurse/MidwifeAbout the roleThe Mater Cardiac Surgical Neonatal Critical Care Unit is seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Nurse to join the team in a fixed-term position, working 36 hours per week.The Neonatal Critical Care Unit is a 79 bed perinatal tertiary referral centre which provides care for approximately 2000 babies per year. Within this unit is a cohort of highly specialised and complex babies requiring intensive care in collaboration with multiple subspecialty teams from the state-wide children's hospital. You will be part of large multidisciplinary teams caring for babies with cardiac, surgical, neurosurgical, renal and other complex conditions and supporting families as part of our team.Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager, our Registered Nurses make up a vital and respected part of the nursing team at Mater. Key duties and responsibilities will include:Utilising a structured approach to carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patientsWithin scope of practice, implement planned evidence-based nursing interventionsAct as a patient advocate ensuring patients are informed and consent is gained prior to proceduresContribute to the maintenance of an environment which promotes safety, security and personal integrity of individual patients and groupsMaintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practicesEnsure confidentiality of corporate and patient informationAbout youYou will be driven by a challenging yet rewarding environment where you can bring your energy and experience to this dynamic team of passionate nurses.
