About the role As a Lecturer in the discipline of Mathematics you will join a collegial and mutually supportive school located within a rural city.
A substantial part of the School's teaching is online, within a supportive pedagogic framework for students, therefore potential applicants will need to possess a demonstrated proficiency in the use of computers and a willingness to adapt to new software environments.
The School has an energetic research culture, and as a new staff member you will contribute to high quality publications and other research outputs.
All staff are expected to make a service contribution to the institution.
New staff members will contribute to and maintain or improve the discipline's future ERA ratings by producing high quality publications and other research outputs.
It is expected that staff would provide research expertise in one of our areas of strength, showing evidence of this by a publication record, and the potential to attract competitive grant funding.
This position is established to strengthen the research in partial differential equations and applications in biological problems associated to Professor Yihong Du's Laureate Fellowship.
About you To be successful in this role, you will have: Hold a PhD in mathematics Have experience and show strong performance as an engaging teacher of mathematics at different levels, including service teaching, and willingness to engage in online teaching Possess a research profile in partial differential equations and applications in biological problems associated to Professor Yihong Du's Laureate Fellowship, evidenced by publication record Demonstrate potential and willingness to attract competitive external research funding Have experience, or willingness, to supervise honours and higher degree by research (HDR) students Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate and perform effectively within a team Show willingness to perform appropriate administrative/service roles both within the Discipline and at the School, Faculty, or University level About the Faculty The Faculty of Science, Agriculture, Business and Law (SABL) is an innovative collaboration of scientists, researchers, and academics designed to deliver outstanding education and practical learning.
