The main focus of this role is to oversee, manage, and coordinate safety requirements. This is a busy role and will require high-level organisation and prioritising skills with the ability to work across multiple projects at once.You will be responsible for driving a safety culture across designated projects. You will work closely with various project teams to ensure all safety matters are coordinated on-site. Some of these include:Conducting toolbox talks, inductions, inspections, spot audits, and risk assessments,Delivering safety consultation meetings,Maintaining site compliance with Legislation, Codes of Practice, and Australian Standards,Reviewing contractor’s compliance with Manteena’s systems, including SWMS, plant documentation, SDS, and project safety plans,Incident investigation and reporting,Assisting in appointing HSRs on sites,Supporting internal and external audits,Other tasks related to this position.This role requires high-level communication skills along with the ability to liaise, influence, and educate the importance of safety to people at all levels. You will have strong administration and research skills and an understanding of building techniques to solve construction safety issues.Due to the nature of our work, you must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident to apply for this position.WHAT YOU REQUIRE:A minimum of 2 years experience in work health and safety within a construction-safety-related role,Qualifications and training:Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety, or higher,Building and Construction General Induction,ACT Asbestos Awareness,Silica Awareness,First Aid certificate,Driver’s licence and your own vehicle.Demonstrated experience working and complying with:The Work Health and Safety Act and Regulations,Codes of Practice,Australian Standards related to safety.An understanding of the Work Health and Safety Accreditation programs as administered by various external regulated authorities (OFSC, etc.),Exceptional interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and written skills,Demonstrated experience using Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.), andThe ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance and Working with Vulnerable People licence.About us:Work for the Manteena group and you will be joining a company with over 40 years of proven excellence in the construction industry.
