Description
The core focus of this role is to deliver best in class Engineering SME support to Work Dynamics accounts to achieve our overall objectives of Mitigating Risk, Driving Quality, Optimizing cost and Cutting Carbon. As also continuously innovating/ improving JLL’s engineering services offering in partnership with JLL Work Dynamics Technology. The role involves collaboration with other functional teams in Ops Excellence, HSSE and engineering talent across Work Dynamics to deliver the best value for WD accounts and their clients.
The role will also work extensively with the Engineering Solutions lead for APAC, SD and Head of EO for APAC to support the growth and retention of the WD business in the hub. The role will report to the Head of Engineering Operations for APAC.
Key Responsibilities and expectations
1. Subject matter expert in general engineering operations supporting targeted accounts and ad-hoc Work Dynamics business - channeled to the business needs (i.e., central challenges and gaps, best person in the field approach- requires knowing who the SME’s and top talent is within WD and client ops to leverage and deliver support) Smaller accounts may require engineering expertise and support, root cause analysis, risk mitigation support. Identify opportunities and requirements to connect other SMEs in the Center of Expertise Platform to accounts or HSSE. Example below:-
Scenario 1 : In case during an assurance audit or site operations review you find that the account has not been able to respond to HSSE related questions adequately. You connect the account to the HSSE COE or the HSSE lead for the country and ensure resolution.
2. Lead engineering and technical services innovation in partnership with Work Dynamics Technology to drive best in class operational performance on all assigned accounts through idea sharing, and general collaboration.
Scenario 1 : During an account engagement session on an assurance audit, you discover that the account is providing Capital Asset Renewal and planning inputs manually working off excel files of Asset Registers. You take this as an opportunity to connect with the Reliability and Asset Management SMEs and demonstrate JLL’s Capital Asset Renewal Product to the account and give them a flavor of how this will help them.
Scenario 2: You have made yourselves aware of the RCM product with IoT that the Reliability Engineering (RE) team drives. When requested by an account for an SME review of their maintenance strategy and plan you find that they have a large number of new assets that are relatively low criticality to the business and there is an opportunity for modulation of frequencies and introduction of condition-based maintenance practices. You provide the RE and AM team the lead and connect that team to the account.
3. Support engineering operations transition activities for new business and expansions including on-boarding requirements of newly onboarded engineering teams.
4. Develop comprehensive standard operating procedures where needed with other SME’s, standard response procedures, and emergency procedures - including training, guidance.
5. Deployment support of our JLL Client Assurance Program (JCAP) in the capacity of an Engineering SME on JLL minimum standards of engineering delivery. Supporting Accounts and site teams from an Engineering standpoint during the phases of self assessment, SME audits and closure of CAPAs.
6. Lead and ensure deployment and implementation of JLL Safe Systems of Work Procedures and Incident Management Procedures and CMO platform in the hub.
7. Work closely with APAC Engineering Solutions lead, Sales and Solutions Development teams to provide engineering expertise in RFP/RFI/RFT response efforts as required; this could include collaborating on technical responses, example deliverables, yellow pad sessions, presentations, staffing model development, site tours and pricing exercises. Make recommendations to the bid management team on improvements to proposal language and technical deliverables. Work with HSSE, Sustainability Services and Mobile Engineering to help design holistic best in class engineering solutions.
Scenario 1 : During a site DD to support a new bid you find the client has detailed sustainability goals related to our scope that are not clearly brought out in the scope document. You flag this off to both the SD team and Sustainability SME, thereby ensuring JLL leverage our Sustainability capability to maximize win probability.
8. Support deployment of maintenance and asset management programs utilizing CMMS and other technology/ tools. Drive utilization and optimize data quality/consistency.
Scenario 1 : Whilst undertaking an assurance audit and correlating responses therein to the asset Data Quality of the account on the DQ dashboard you find there is a need to track maintenance more effectively via a CMMS or Corrigo and deploy the full capability of Corrigo as a CMMS. You share the DQ standards and Asset Management playbook with the account and connect them to the Asset management and RE team for DQ enhancement and the Digital Operations team for a Corrigo training refresh.
9. Deploy technical training programs and certification programs in support of and alignment with Education and Professional Development strategy.
Scenario 1 : In periodic account engagement sessions, you proactively share the new Technical Development Programs available to the accounts and loop in the Engineering training team to provide the account additional details of the programs available to them on MyLearning and other learning opportunities that can be facilitated by that team.
Scenario 2 : You engage and conduct training sessions where needed for accounts to enable them to respond to the assurance program questions appropriately.
10. Ensure effective and consistent collaboration with HSSE and QC teams to deliver compliance and assurance programs and meet JLL minimum standards.

11. Interview and assess IFM technical resources/ identify and monitor development of engineering and technical talent in the sub region.
12. Conduct on-site building evaluations and lead due diligence efforts including oversight, evaluation and reporting. These could be Ad-hoc and for bid or expansion purposes.
13. Support SME responses as required associated with IFM technical related services (including code, Union concerns etc).
14. Collaborate effectively with the other sub regional leads in the other regions of APAC and ensure that best practices are shared and leveraged
15. Collaborate extensively with other functions within the COE to drive best value of the platform’s programs and SMEs to accounts
Scenario 1 : During your function’s monthly connect with Accounts you identify that an account that has newly transitioned does not understand the full value of the COE. You implement the new account onboarding program and also set up the Account to meet with other SMEs in the Ops Excellence Platform.
Requirements
16. Minimum 15 years in engineering operations in IFM
17. A university degree in engineering; electrical, mechanical or civil. Preferably electrical or mechanical.
18. Direct experience leading/managing others and demonstrating followership.
19. Requires a continuous improvement mindset with an ability to promote change amongst teams.
20. Experience driving and deploying large scaling initiatives and programs across varied people, assets and geographies.
21. Position could require 30% travel.
22. Requires general understanding and can demonstrate understanding Engineering Delivery, commercial implications and risk, and change management.
23. Demonstrated collaborative leadership skills and ability to quickly identify, respond to and resolve issues.
24. Should have broad understanding of various IFM commercial structures and implications of each related to operational delivery.
25. Demonstrated skill in influencing, key stakeholder management and relationship management.
26. General understanding and experience with Real Estate Outsourcing, and client needs and expectations.
