What you'll be doing Join WSLHD as a Nurse Practitioner/Transitional Nurse Practitioner in Mental Health, where you will provide advanced, autonomous, and collaborative care in a dynamic environment. Your role will be pivotal in delivering comprehensive mental health assessments and interventions. Conduct mental health assessments and crisis interventions in the emergency department. Prescribe and implement therapeutic interventions, including medications and non-pharmacological treatments. Develop individualised recovery plans with consumers and collaborate with their support networks. Document assessments, interactions, and outcomes comprehensively. Advocate for consumers' rights and participate in clinical meetings, staff education, and quality improvement activities. Post Graduate qualifications at master's level in Mental Health Nursing within an NMBA approved program of study or evidence of working towards attainment. Demonstrated high level knowledge and advanced clinical and mental health nursing skills including comprehensive assessment, interpretation of diagnostics, implementation of treatment modalities and relevant referral skills applied to a broad range of challenging, complex and changing situations. Demonstrated understanding of the Mental Health Care system and ability to lead and implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the initiation, utilisation and review of evidence-based research. Proven high level knowledge and expertise in complex client centred consultancy, practice development activities including mentoring, education, active participation in policy development and quality improvement. Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of autonomy and accountability whilst working collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary and multi-service environment. Able to seek assistance when required and take advice and direction. Demonstrated advanced clinical leadership skills, including negotiation, liaison, interpretation and problem-solving skills, as well as advanced conflict management and resolution skills.
