Job Title: Family Therapist
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Family Therapist to join our Functional Family Therapy - Child Welfare (FFT-CW) team in Logan, Queensland.
About the Role:
As a Family Therapist, you will work with families to enhance safety and strengthen relationships to prevent statutory interventions. Your key responsibilities will include:
• Providing evidence-based therapy to families in their homes
• Conducting assessments to identify risks, protective factors, and behaviour change strategies
• Supporting families with structured therapeutic sessions tailored to their specific needs
• Participating in ongoing training and reflective supervision sessions
• Maintaining accurate client records and adhering to organisational policies
• Collaborating with external agencies and stakeholders to achieve family outcomes
• Contributing to team cohesion and program improvements
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
• Tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, counselling, or a related field
• Postgraduate training or experience in family therapy, systemic thinking, and clinical practice
• Proven ability to deliver evidence-based interventions in complex family settings
• Strong understanding of child protection systems, trauma-informed practice, and cultural awareness
• A client-focused approach, resilience, and excellent interpersonal skills
• Flexibility to work outside regular hours, including evenings
