A little about the role
As a Social/Case Worker, you will:
* Be part of a collaborative integrated team working together to make a positive and lasting difference to children and young people through the provision of quality care in a family setting and provide regular support via telephone and face to face visits to Foster Carers.
* Monitor that the children/young people and their families are being provided with foster care services responding to their needs, as well as facilitating and encouraging support contact as agreed in the care plan.
* Ensure that the protection of children and their welfare is given the absolute priority in all activities and events, while also ensuring that the children/young person’s opinions are sought over all issues likely to affect their daily life.
* Supporting and coaching foster carers to learn and grow in confidence and ability guided by the Key Assets Practice Framework for Foster Care, and in adherence with organisational and Departmental legislation, policy, procedures, standards and competencies.
About you
To be successful in this role, you’ll come with:
* Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or other relevant recognised Qualifications.
* Prior experience working with and/or on behalf of children, young people and families.
* Knowledge of various Child Protection Legislation, Government initiatives and agendas across Victoria.
* Tenacity, diligence and resilience - with the ability to adopt a creative approach to problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
