We also deploy medical professionals and aircraft in support of defence, government and commercial contracts, and energy and resource sector sites.The role:We currently have an opportunity for a Safety, Health, Environment & Quality (SHEQ) Specialist to join the organisation and be a key member of CareFlight’s Risk team in Sydney or Darwin.Reporting to the Head of Risk, the key objective for this role will be to maintain, develop and assure the effectiveness of CareFlight’s Integrated Management System (IMS) which is certified to ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Managing and developing the Document Control SystemMaintaining/updating as applicable IMS related applications (e.g. Air Maestro, Acorn, Intranet), documentation and Risk Registers.Managing the IMS audit programConducting audits and inspections to identify opportunities for improvement and assess compliance to the IMS.Supporting external audit programs including certification and regulatory audits.Coordinating and collaborating with departments to ensure the ongoing effectiveness and efficiency of management systems.IMS performance reporting and analysis against CareFlight’s IMS objectives and key performance metrics.Administrative functions such as records management and minute takingTo be successful in this role you will have the following:Innate curiosity, hunger to learn and desire to build on your current experience within a high- risk safety critical environment.Strong attention to detail and ability to be flexible and responsive to changing needs in an operational environment.Well-developed communication and report writing skillsAbility to manage competing tasks and timeframes and appreciation/acceptance that the undertaking of routine/administrative tasks are part and parcel of delivering an effective management systemRelevant current qualifications and/or experience that demonstrates a good understanding of Safety, Health, Environment, Quality and Risk management disciplinesProficient in the use of computer systems and applications such as Microsoft Office, Sharepoint, Adobe acrobat, Power Bi.Knowledge of relevant Work, Health and Safety and Environmental legislation and associated standardsAbility and willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice, within Australia (primarily, Sydney, Newcastle, Darwin, Gove, Katherine)Experience undertaking audits and inspections in an operational environmentLead Auditor QualificationExperience facilitating risk assessments.Experience working in a “for purpose” organisationHow to applyIf you would like to be part of our team, you can apply using the link below.
