You will play a pivotal role in upholding these values and contributing to our collective growth and success.The opportunity that awaits you?Our Finance Department currently has a max-term contract opportunity for an experienced Corporate Accountant to join our Subiaco Head Office for a 15-month maternity leave coverage.Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role is responsible for analysing, processing & reporting financial data primarily for Northern Star's ‘Power Business & Exploration Joint Venture', as well as helping support the Corporate Accounting function.Key responsibilities will include:Management & Joint Venture AccountingMonthly balance sheet reconciliations & maintenance of associated schedules.Prepare monthly cost reporting & manage communications for entity management & JV participants.Prepare basic financial statements and liaise with Auditors as & when required.Assist with the annual budgeting & planning process.As well as perform month end procedures for:Bank reconciliationsAmortisation and depreciation journalsExploration allocationsJoint Venture accounting take upsOther standing journalsInvoicingCorporate Accounting:Assist with accounts receivable.Perform monthly bank reconciliations, as well as reconciliations for intercompany loans, credit cards & flight costs.Monthly exploration salary allocations.Monthly lease allocations & maintenance of lease schedules.Maintain corporate fixed asset & capital work in progress schedules.Maintain the associated reconciliations & schedules.To succeed in this role?The following will see you set for success in this role:A Tertiary Qualification preferably in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or equivalent, along with CA or CPA accreditation.A minimum three (3) years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a Mining or Resources Company or within a ‘big-four' accounting firm.You are ‘continuous improvement' focused, with a passion for delivering quality outcomes across your remit.Excellent communication & people skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively, as well as engage, influence & build strong, functional relationships across the business.Possess a strong level of computer literacy across the MS Office Suite, with experience using Pronto highly regarded.Target driven & solutions orientated, you think strategically & outside the box to achieve successful outcomes.You possess strong analytical & problem-solving skills and thrive in a dynamic environment.Flexible & adaptable to changing priorities, you are well organised, have strong time management skills & an excellent attention to detail.Discover the perks of working at Northern Star..Joining the Northern Star team also offers the opportunity to enjoy our industry leading benefits and bonus programs, which include:Career progression & professional development opportunities.A quarterly Gold Price Variable Bonus.An annual Short-term Incentive Bonus.Company paid Salary Continuance Insurance (income protection) from commencement.Interested?Northern Star's pre-employment process includes completing a full pre-employment medical, confirming you hold the relevant Australian work rights, and the ability to apply for an Australian National Police Clearance.Northern Star is an equal opportunity employer who fosters an environment that is inclusive and supportive of a diverse workforce.We genuinely welcome your interest in Northern Star and encourage your application, by clicking the pink 'Apply' button.
