The Tank Wagon Driver will make deliveries of petroleum products to customer sites efficiently following all company and mandated protocols.
Essential Responsibilities:
1. Make delivery of bulk petroleum products to customer sites in compliance with state and federal regulations and all Company operational and safety policies and procedures.
2. Maintain truck and delivery logs in compliance with state and federal regulations; conduct required pre- and post-trip inspections.
3. Communicate customer needs and inquiries to appropriate departments for follow up.
4. Perform other related duties, tasks, and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested.
Requirements:
1. CDL Class A or B w/clean driving record. Hazmat, tanker endorsements required; up-to-date medical card.
2. Must meet all DOT requirements including road test, physical, and drug screen.
Education and Experience:
1. 2 years commercial driving experience required.
2. Past fuel/oil delivery experience preferred but not required.
3. Must have up-to-date medical card.
4. Ability to work independently and be familiar with the local area.
5. Possess basic math skills, organizational skills, and be a team player.
Physical Requirements:
1. Walk, bend, reach, push, pull, stoop, squat, and climb, as required, in order to perform required vehicle inspections.
2. Frequently climb in and out of a large truck.
3. Extended schedule may be required as dictated by management and business needs.
4. May be required to lift, push, or pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
5. May be required to be exposed to extreme weather conditions (snow, ice, heat, winds).
6. Occasionally climb ladders to inspect inside the cargo tank following loading or unloading.
7. Sit for extended periods of time in a truck and be able to drive for as many as 11 hours while transporting fuel and other industry products.
8. Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job, including walking and prolonged sitting, and comply with the physical requirements as defined by the Department of Transportation.
