About the Division / Team
Our Hunter Valley network primarily services the Hunter Valley coal chain – the world’s largest thermal coal export operation – by providing an efficient and reliable rail transportation system between mines and the Port of Newcastle.We manage the movement of around 250 trains per day on our network. Around half of these being coal trains and the other half comprised of passenger services, as well as grain, general intermodal, and other bulk freight trains.
About the Opportunity
Work collaboratively withina team to conduct high quality maintenance duties, including the operation ofplant and equipment, on ARTC’s network.
1. Carry out routine and ad-hoc maintenance duties on ARTC’s network
2. Work as part of the team to minimise network operational delays, respond to network emergencies, failures and breakdowns as required
3. Undertake safeworking in line with rules and procedures and encourage a positive work culture within the team
4. Undertake training in required competencies
5. Work during planned possessions
6. Participate and assist in problem solving associated with the asset performance or conditions
About You
To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate:
7. Aluminothermic welding qualifications
8. MR Drivers Licence
9. Ability to actively collaborate within a team
10. Well-developed oral and written communication skills
11. Computer proficiency
12. Self-motivated with a willingness to learn
13. Ability to work additional hours, be on-call and travel as required
14. Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
