The Position
Burnie General Practice is seeking a full time GP to join their experienced team and assist with high patient demand. You will be joining a collegial team of doctors and support staff who can help you deliver quality care in today's rapidly evolving environment.
The practice operates Monday to Friday 8.30 am until 5.00 pm. A Saturday clinic operates 9.00 am until midday, running on a roster system with other GPs in the practice, and after hours triage is provided by Health Direct.
The Organisation
Burnie is located on the coast of North West Coast of Tasmania. It has a population of approximately 20,000 people and is situated near beautiful beaches with a wonderful wilderness experience a short drive away, yet only an hour’s flight from Melbourne.
Burnie General Practice is located in the Plaza Arcade adjacent to a pharmacy and with allied health services onsite, which ensures a broad range of patients. There are 8 well equipped consulting rooms, a procedure room and a 3 bay treatment room staffed by nurses who provide a range of services, including Travelvax. The practice is accredited by QPA.
Currently there are 5 doctors and, being a training practice, GP registrars, medical students and nursing students are welcome. Clinical issues are discussed at monthly meetings and guest speakers visit.
The practice operates on a mixed billing basis and uses Best Practice software.
