Position details: 2:1 roster (7 days, 7 nights) 12 hour shifts Quarterly retention bonus On0site training opportunities Incredible food on site (head chef formally worked at Epicurean at Crown Casino) Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities: Excavation Operations: Operate excavators (primarily Komatsu PC850 / PC490) and other heavy equipment to dig trenches, move earth, and perform various site preparation tasks. Material Handling: Load, unload, and move materials such as oversize material, debris, and sand in a safe and efficient manner. Site Safety: Follow all site safety protocols, ensuring the protection of yourself and others around the worksite. Conduct routine safety checks on the equipment and surroundings. Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily pre-start checks and basic maintenance on the excavator, reporting any issues or repairs needed to the maintenance team. Collaborate with Team: Work closely with supervisors, site managers, and other machine operators to ensure tasks are completed on time and according to project specifications. Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 3 years operating an excavator in a construction, quarrying, or mining environment (experience operating models PC850 and PC490 would be desirable.) Licenses: Valid HR Drivers license Accreditation: RIIMPO320F - Conduct civil construction excavator operations (or equivalent preferred) Safety Focus: Strong knowledge of safety protocols and hazard prevention in construction or mining sites. Attention to Detail: Ability to follow project blueprints, grade plans, and instructions from site supervisors. Team Player: Strong communication skills and a collaborative work attitude.
