The Opportunity:The Director of Project Cost Control is accountable for managing all aspects of project cost control, including budget allocation, cost reporting, forecasting, cash flow, and change management. The role leads the development of business cases with accurate cost estimates and historical benchmarks and ensures the integrity of the Project Controls System for timely, accurate reporting.Key Responsibilities:Participate in contractor bid reviews and assist in contractor variation and claims evaluations as required.Support the project teams by undertaking necessary internal tasks to provide cost management advice and inputs into key project reports and provide cost control and change management support across the project scope as required.Lead the development of business cases, to provide the state with an accurate project cost estimate, including analysis of historic costs for benchmarks.We are looking for:Extensive experience with the application of Cost Control and Project Management principles. Sound understanding of project controls mechanisms including cost forecast, program and month end reporting.Proven ability to offer expert guidance, thought leadership, and mentorship, promoting cost/budget management as a key element of organisational planning and culture.A sound understanding of risks associated with procurement, commercial contracts, project management, and transport services, within the Victorian Government context.Bachelor (or higher) qualification in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline is mandatory.Application Process:Please click the “Apply” button to submit a copy of your resume and a cover letter expressing your interest and suitability for the role.
