Make an impact as a MSWA Community Support Worker with permanent part time and casual opportunities on offer. Be the difference for people living with neurological conditions.
We are currently recruiting within Albany and surrounding areas.
Now is an exciting time to join MSWA. We are a leading disability services provider, supporting thousands of West Australians living with a neurological condition. Demand for our services has never been higher and due to rapid growth, we are expanding our Community Support Team.
Our Community Support Workers play a crucial role in delivering person-centered care and support in our client’s homes. We know the difference a great client experience can make, and we want you to bring your skills and experience to improve the lives of our clients.
When you work with us, we’ll work with you, with a competitive rate of pay, a range of benefits that we think can make a big difference to your life too, initial hands-on training to get you going, ongoing development and mentorship.
Whilst in the client’s home, there will be a few core activities that you’ll ace such as:
* Providing personal care (e.g. showering and dressing) to promote health and well-being.
* Medication administration & assistance.
* Meal preparation, cleaning, cooking, shopping, and other household duties (the small stuff makes a huge difference!)
* Supporting social access such as taking clients to appointments and helping them pursue social/leisure activities.
* Working to meet the unique needs of the client by following their individualized care plans and helping them achieve their defined goals.
Our ‘must haves’
* A genuine passion to make a difference in someone’s day – ideally within a similar type role.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills – both written and verbal.
* Ability to assist someone with their day-to-day activities.
* NDIS Workers Screening Check (or willingness to obtain – we can help there if required.)
* Current Australian “C” Class Drivers Licence with no restrictions.
* A reliable, roadworthy, licensed and fully insured vehicle.
Our ‘nice to haves’
* First Aid/CPR certificate – less than 12 months old (training can be provided.)
* A Certificate III or higher in a relevant discipline.
