About the Role:
The Head of Construction, Australia will be responsible for the strategic development, client management and growth of the construction sector portfolio across Australia.
This senior leadership role involves close collaboration with regional country management to select, train and develop staff, ensuring the highest service standards for the Construction and Infrastructure (C&I) client base.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the construction sector across Australia, aligned with the company's overall goals
* Identify new business opportunities and provide thought leadership on emerging construction trends and risks
* Lead initiatives to expand the company's market share in the construction industry
* Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key construction clients
* Provide high-level consultancy and advisory services to clients
* Collaborate with account teams to ensure client retention and growth
* Lead and mentor a team of construction insurance specialists
* Drive talent development initiatives to enhance the team's expertise in construction risk and insurance
* Work with product development teams to create innovative insurance products and solutions tailored to the specific needs of the construction sector
Requirements:
* Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in the insurance industry
* Proven experience in a leadership role, managing teams and driving business growth
* Strong knowledge of construction risk, insurance products and market trends in the Pacific region
* Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills
* Critical thinking and business development attitude
* Strong leadership and team management abilities
* Client-focused with a deep understanding of construction industry challenges
