We are looking for a hands-on, experienced civil construction worker who will assist the site supervisor in ensuring works are constructed in accordance with agreed productions, methodologies, timeframes, and to the requirements of our high safety, quality, and environmental standards.
What you can expect in the role:
You will lead and coordinate workers, inclusive of sub-contractors, to deliver planned activities.
You will participate in daily pre-start talks and assist the supervisor in delivering messaging around hazards, control measures, and planned activities.
You will assist the supervisor with managing, leading, and holding people accountable on site, including driving expectations around quality, safety, and culture on site.
You will perform safety and environment inspections and SWMS to ensure the site is maintained to the highest standards.
You will read and understand requirements of design drawings and project specifications, and communicate these requirements to the work crew.
You will ensure all machines are correctly maintained, and daily pre-start checks are conducted.
You will demonstrate leadership qualities across the site by leading and creating a positive and inclusive culture.
You will review the work of construction workers and sub-contractors and ensure works are up to standards.
About you:
Demonstrated experience in Civil construction ideally in a role that has managed resources, teams, and outputs.
Hands-on experience with roadworks, earthworks, drainage, subdivisions, or other civil construction activities.
Ability to read and understand plans/design drawings.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
Have a hands-on, can-do approach.
