Assembly Technician/Supervisor (Maternity Leave Cover)

Join our client's innovative team based in Melbourne's inner suburbs as an Assembly Technician/Supervisor for a 12-month maternity leave cover. You’ll oversee the production of advanced water measurement equipment, ensuring quality, efficiency, and team success. Responsibilities
* Team Supervision: Lead and support the assembly team to ensure productivity and quality.
* Assembly & Testing: Conduct professional electrical and mechanical assembly and testing of sophisticated electromechanical systems.
* Inventory Management: Manage inwards/outwards inventory, ensure accurate stock levels, and liaise with suppliers for timely deliveries.
* Procurement: Execute purchases, monitor purchase orders, and ensure materials arrive on schedule.
* Production Scheduling: Plan and oversee production schedules, ensuring adherence and making adjustments as needed.
* Documentation: Accurately record all test and inspection results and update work progress in the ERP system.
* Hands-On Work: Spend about 25% of your time directly involved in assembly tasks.
* Reporting: Provide regular updates to the Production Manager on task progress, issues, and solutions.
Your Profile
* 5 years in assembly and system testing (highly desirable).
* Background in electronics engineering or similar field.
* Experience managing suppliers and procurement processes.
* Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality standards.
* Strong communication and leadership abilities.
* Manual dexterity and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in managing budgets and schedules.
* Ability to handle both supervisory duties and hands-on technical tasks.
* Certificate IV in Manufacturing (highly desirable)
