Swan Transit has an exciting Supervisory position available for a qualified and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to lead our Workshop Team in South West, Bunbury/ Busselton as a Workshop Supervisor.Responsible to the Area Manager/ Workshop Manager, this position will lead the team of experienced mechanics and apprentice mechanics. Control and coordinate all engineering issues, assuring all maintenance is carried out safely, to the required standard and in a cost-effective manner.This role will see you being responsible for providing a high quality of workmanship on a fleet of government owned buses. It is a great opportunity to grow your career.Participate and support the on-going effectiveness of the business integrated Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality (HSEQ) and Asset Management Systems (AMS). To ensure ease of use, we deliver integrated bus services and transport networks, intelligently easing road congestion and increasing a city’s sustainability and livability.Principal ResponsibilitiesControl and co-ordination of daily workflow.Ensures safety standards and company policies are adhered to.Maintains appropriate records and documentation.Provides staff management for engineering section.Orders stock and maintains stock levels at a cost-effective level.Provide on-the-job training for workshop staff.Any other duties as required.SELECTION CRITERIAQualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic with a minimum of 5 years’ post trade experience in leadership role desirable.Experience on Mercedes and Volvo bus chassis preferred.Knowledge of Occupational, Health and Welfare Act and application to the workplace.Possession of current ‘Heavy Rigid’ class vehicle license.Possess or should be willing to obtain PTD.Record keeping and office administration skills, including knowledge of the following computer software packages: Microsoft Word, Excel and Access.For more information about the role please contact on 08-9247 7500 or email employment@swantransit.com.au.For more information about Transit Systems visit our website: http://www.transitsystems.com.au.Does this sound interesting and exciting to you?Then simply click on the apply button and follow the steps.
