Our restaurant boasts the Sunshine Coast's most exciting menu and has been featured in “Tastes of Australia Vol 2” Cookbook, with every dish incorporating Australian native ingredients, including native fruits, spices, or proteins such as crocodile, kangaroo, and emu.
We are seeking a creative and talented Head Chef to undertake the following role.
Responsibilities:
* Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities.
* Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations, ensuring the variety and quality of the servings.
* Approve and “polish” dishes before they reach the customer.
* Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages.
* Remedy any problems or defects.
* Be fully in charge of hiring, managing, and training kitchen staff.
* Oversee the work of subordinates.
* Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
* Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as Head Chef.
* Proficiency in managing kitchen operations, including inventory and food costing.
* Ability to divide responsibilities and monitor progress.
* Outstanding communication and leadership skills.
* Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes.
* Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS).
* Credentials in health and safety training.
