Manufacturing Engineer We are looking for a qualified and talented Manufacturing Engineer to implement step change optimization in cost efficiency, quality, and safety through implementation of new technology and processes in our manufacturing operations. This is a newly created role to support our growing business and new product launch in the next year. What you'll do all day: Uses Lean manufacturing principles to develop, evaluate and improve manufacturing methods. Utilises knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, and quality control standards. Analyses and plans workforce utilisation, space requirements and workflow. Design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Implementation of lean manufacturing principles such as elimination of waste, FIFO, one piece flow, Kanban, continuous flow and synchronized production chains. Work with the Optimisation Manager to optimise manpower and equipment utilisation using tools such as standardized work sheets, balancing & levelling. Development of value stream maps, time studies, detailed area layouts. Work with the Manufacturing Technology Engineers to analyse cost benefits and evaluate business cases. Collaborate with global teams around product design, tools, and fixtures to ensure efficient production standardisation and methods. Consults with vendors to arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts. Applies statistical methods to understand historical production and quality trends. Support with new product introductions. What you will bring: Engineering degree (master, bachelor, FH/ETH or equivalent) in mechanical engineering, production/manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering. Experience in the field of industrial engineering and/or process planning in the production environment. 2-3 years of experience in project planning, optimization and implementation for processes, material flows, layouts, production equipment. Knowledge of lean manufacturing, process development and project engineering. Excellent conceptual and analytical competencies. CAD and illustrator knowledge is an advantage. Statistical training and/or exposure to Six Sigma beneficial. We are looking for someone with: Knowledge of Lean principles; formal training preferred. Self-starter.
