There is a general paediatric ward, a neonatal ward (we look after babies from 32 weeks gestation) and a busy Paediatric Outpatient Department. Outreach services are provided at the Launceston Aboriginal Centre and Flinders Island. The Paediatric unit has an Adolescent section, and provides in and outpatient eating disorder treatment collaboratively with CYHMS.The position of paediatric staff specialist will be attractive to a highly skilled and motivated professional, who is driven by a passion to improve regional healthcare for children and adolescents, and who can manage both acute inpatients paediatrics and on-call, as well as be willing to join the MYFEEDS (Eating Disorder team), or join the paediatricians supporting Type 1 Diabetes patients. A candidate who has skills to be involved in the SAFE (Assessment of paediatric sexual assault) roster will be preferred.The DoH offers a comprehensive undergraduate and graduate clinical training program, with close ties to the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School. Teaching will be a core part of your tasks.Details of appointment:Permanent, day worker position, working up to 32 hours per fortnight; fractional hours will be considered. Commencing as soon as you are able to join our team.Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.Salary:$216,300 to $296,410 per annum (Pro rata).
