About the Program Area The Office of the Deputy CEO (ODCEO) provides efficient, effective and contemporary services to key function areas. It supports the delivery of transformation and business improvement projects and other general governance and reporting functions across the agency. The key duties of the position include: The Australian Institute of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Studies (AIATSIS) is looking for an established and inspiring senior leader with very well developed organisational and influencing skills to join our Executive as a Deputy Chief Executive Officer (DCEO/COO). As DCEO, you will drive delivery on a range of AIATSIS Council and government commitments and priorities through high quality leadership and influence over a range of priority agendas. You will be responsible for contributing to the broader leadership and functions of AIATSIS, actively involved in executive decision-making and representational activities, and work collaboratively to provide strategic leadership and drive a cohesive and high performing organisation. You will drive the purpose of AIATSIS by working in genuine partnership with other group heads across the Institute. The Deputy CEO will report directly to the CEO and will have oversight of approximately 45 staff within the Strategic Operations Group, with staff located in our Canberra and Alice Springs offices. Notes Remuneration This is a critical senior appointment, and the remuneration package will therefore be structured to attract and retain an outstanding appointee. The package will include an attractive base salary and employer sponsored superannuation. Location The vacancy is based in the Maraga Building on the Acton Peninsula in Canberra.
