Finance Officer (Financial Accounting) Clerk Grade: 5/6Location: Sydney CBDSalary: Starting from $93,295 to $102,941 plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.Employment: Full-time, temporary role (up to 5 months). A talent pool may be created from this recruitment process to fill future ongoing and temporary opportunities.About this role Join our Corporate Finance team and play a key role in supporting the Principal Department financial accounting team and assisting with early close and year-end statutory financial reporting.You will work closely with various finance teams across the Department of Customer Service (DCS) and collaborate with our outsourced shared services provider.Your responsibilities will include: Providing financial accounting system and reporting support to ensure data accuracy and integrity, and resolving any system issues. Assisting with personnel services accounting, partnering with our shared services provider to ensure timely and accurate service delivery in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Identifying and evaluating options to offer effective solutions for financial matters. Supporting the banking function when needed. Ensuring revenues are assessed and classified accurately in accordance with applicable accounting standards. Assisting in the preparation of early close and year-end statutory financial reports. Contributing to the review, development, and documentation of financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legislation and guidelines. About you We're looking for someone who:Has excellent communication skills and is proactive in achieving outcomes. Is deadline-driven, able to work well both independently and as part of a team. Holds a degree in accounting or business and is either CA/CPA qualified or working towards this certification. Has prior experience in financial accounting (preferred).
