8 - 12 Weeks contract with possible extension.Hourly pay rate up to $62.62/hr + Super.Hybrid work (WFH + Canberra Office).Immediate start!PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:You will be responsible to assist the Legal Services team through a range of supporting activities to manage requests for information.Activities can include the retrieval, filing and preparation of documents to facilitate the handling of information requests and litigation.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:Undertake thorough search across the department to retrieve all material relevant to requests for information.Review protected information for the purpose of identifying redactions to the material in accordance with the provisions of the Act and Information Privacy Act 2014 for the Director General.Keep an accurate record of the review and identify potential redactions with corresponding reasons.Preparing comprehensive briefs to the Director General regarding material that has been requested and reviewed to assist the Director General in exercising her discretion regarding the request.Demonstrated sound written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare correspondence and briefs.Maintain high levels of confidentiality in all aspects of the work and deal sensitively with issues as they arise.ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:Demonstrated communication skills both written and oral, and the ability to engage appropriately with internal and external stakeholders.Consistently displays high quality customer service principles and attributes and handles sensitive information with discretion.Experience and/or a desire to work in a community services environment is essential.Experience and/or a desire to work in a legal environment is essential.Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and database systems is essential.Experience in the preparation of court documents and knowledge of the court and tribunal system and relevant procedures is desirable.If this sounds like you, please submit your resume by clicking the 'Apply Now' button. #J-18808-Ljbffr
