You will support operational work units across the Region.The Focus Of This Role IsThe development of fire strategies.Burn program development and approval.Regional wildfire preparedness and response procedures.Planned burn and response planning.Intelligence functions.This role will refine and build your practical and team skills. On a daily basis, you'll deal with both familiar and complex issues. Outdoor duties will be balanced with indoor work. The Ranger (Fire Planning) needs to be well-organised, resourceful and able to build and sustain meaningful relationships.As part of a collaborative and innovative team, you will uphold a positive, safe, diverse and inclusive culture and be provided opportunities to learn, discover and grow. It is essential that you hold a manual driver's licence. While you do not need any tertiary qualifications, formal qualifications in fire or conservation management will be highly regarded.You'll NeedFire management skills and experience.Courage and clear communication skills.Organisational skills and planning experience.A strong belief in workplace health and safety (physical and psychological).To be self-motivated and self-sufficient.Administration, reporting and computer skills.A reasonable degree of fitness is required for this role.This position is based in either Townsville or Rockhampton.
