These areas provide a range of services including recreational activities for both residents and visitors across the Townsville Region.This is an exceptional opportunity to show the pride and care you have for gardening practices by using your previous experience to beautify the city centre.This role works specifically in the City Centre, Flinders Street Shopping Precinct (Mall) and around the main council building, so the role requires extensive knowledge of plant species and a working knowledge of plants and weeds. You will work mainly on your own rather than in a team environment.About You:Our ideal candidate will have:Sound knowledge of landscaping practices applicable to parks and gardensSound knowledge of (but not limited to): pruning, tree and shrub removal, use of pesticides, treatment of plant pests, diseases, disorders and nutritional problems, shrubs, turf, trees species and irrigation systemsUndertake activities in relation to garden environments including pruning, mowing, litter collection, etc.Undertake necessary plantings within garden environments as directedLiaise with Horticulture/Arboriculture Officers and Nursery Team in relation to activities in the parks and gardens environments as necessaryAssist with training horticulture trainees/apprenticesQualifications you require are as follows:Certificate III in Arboriculture and/or Certificate III in Horticulture (Mandatory)Accredited Chainsaw Ticket (Level 2)Agricultural Chemical Distribution Certificate (ACDC)Construction Industry White Card (30215 QLD)How to ApplyYour application can be submitted through the 'Apply' button.
