What does the business unit do?
Emergency Management Victoria (EMV) leads emergency management in Victoria by working with government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies. EMV is a statutory entity and is part of the Department of Justice & Community Safety.
Operations
The purpose of the Operations directorate is to lead the emergency operational coordination and state operations in Victoria by working with communities, government, agencies and business to strengthen their capacity to withstand, plan for, respond to and recover from emergencies.
Please note - The role works on a rostered basis. The successful candidate will be required to work outside normal business hours and on weekends. This may include stand-by arrangements.
What will the role do?
The workforce planner is responsible for collaborating with emergency management agencies and other government departments to ensure workforce capacity and availability for State Control Centre (SCC) operations.
Key tasks include:
* Coordinate and fill the required shift plans to meet current and future needs for the SCC
* Support workforce training and readiness activities to ensure capability needs.

What skills and knowledge should a Workforce Planner have?
As our ideal candidate, you will have:
* Demonstrated experience in workforce management including resourcing, shift planning and rostering.
* A clear ability to collaborate and coordinate with peers and stakeholders.
* An understanding of Victoria's emergency management arrangements.
* Appropriate qualifications in human resources management or workforce planning is desirable.
