The purpose of this role to assist in the design room and ensure weekly meetings are delivered on time and at a superior standard through liaising with all design departments.
Responsibilities: Assist in sourcing and managing accessories and trims, including offshore trim sourcing, ordering for sample development, pricing, following up with suppliers, and testing.Set up seasonal boards with selected trims and maintain a catalogue of sample selections.Create and maintain trim sheets in Excel, confirming weekly product trims for production.Support the Stylist and Head of Design in preparing, establishing, and finalizing shoot lists and collecting samples for campaigns.Pack and unpack items for shoots, sharing tasks with the stylist assistant.Set up and maintain range and category boards for monthly overview and design reference.Prepare presentation boards by grouping fabrics for monthly design signoffs with the design team.Support the Head of Design in creating and maintaining monthly merchandising boards.Create repeat sheets by sketching front and back views and filling out repeat tech packs with noted changes.Assist in designing tops and dress categories under close guidance from the Head of Design.Design and develop hardware and trims with the design team, including CAD illustration and liaising with suppliers to finalize samples to CPS guidelines.Support the design team with print recolouring and minor adjustments using Adobe Suite.Prepare colour-ups of printed styles for monthly design meetings and sign-off.Photograph and catalogue overseas samples and references; unpack, steam, photograph, and label all overseas products.Set up monthly fabric and colour palette boards, providing an overview of prints and colour swatches and updating them with print strike-offs and lab dips.Conduct trend forecasting on colour, print, fabric, silhouette, and accessories under the direction of the Head of Design.Share job duties with the Design Room Assistant, including creating online style descriptions and colour-ups of sketches for pre-buy and sign-off meetings.Assist with maintaining the VM showroom, including changing mannequins.Create print specifications for the Fabric Manager and compile lab dip colour lists and swatches. Requirements Minimum 2 years of experience in a fashion design or related role, with knowledge of garment construction, fabrics, trims, and hardware.Adobe Creative Suite Proficiency: Strong skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign for tasks like print recoloring, CAD illustration, and digital design.Attention to Detail and Organization: Excellent organizational skills for managing samples, trims, boards, and maintaining catalogues accurately.
