About the role
Brisbane Private Hospital is looking for a suitably qualified Clinical Nurse to join our established Drug and Alcohol Unit on a full-time permanent basis. You will play a key role within a supportive team in ensuring high levels of patient care is provided.
About us:
Damascus Health Services is a 44 bed unit located in Brisbane Private Hospital in Spring Hill. We provide a confidential and flexible approach to the care and treatment of people with problems related to the use of alcohol and/or prescribed and over-the-counter drugs.
As a Clinical Nurse your responsibilities will include:
* Adhering to NSQHS standards and Hospital policy and procedure
* Providing evidenced based nursing care
* Liaising with the multidisciplinary team
* Ensuring patient and staff safety
* Ensuring eLearning and mandatory training is completed on a regular basis
* Liaising with Psychiatrists and other members of MDT
* Current Registration with AHPRA
* 5+ years' experience in a Mental Health inpatient setting
* Addictions/detox experience preferable (not essential)
* A demonstrated interest in the field of addictive behaviours, specialisation in the field, substantial experience, or postgraduate qualifications or Continual Professional Development
* Demonstrate ability to deliver high quality patient care.
* Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.
* Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.
* Exceptional time management and organisational skills
* Certificate IV Workplace Assessment & Training (TAE)
* Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
* Demonstrated experience in eLearning platforms
* Knowledge of adult learning practices and contemporary education practices
* Post graduate qualifications in mental health or addiction disorders (Desirable)
