Spectrum Mining Consultants is seeking a Geotechnical Technician to assist the Dam Safety Specialist in developing, executing, and managing a large network of geotechnical instrumentation on our Tier 1 client's world-class mine. This is a full-time position reporting to the Dam Safety Specialist. Applicants must be east coast based. The role is on a 12 days on and 9 days off roster.

Key Duties include:Safety leadership through visible behavioursAssist site supervision, compliance, and performance monitoring on a day-to-day basis of geotechnical drilling and instrumentation installationInstallation of new Dam monitoring instrumentation to the highest standards. Systems include: Radar, Prism, Peizometers, Inclinometers, Seismic Systems, communications networks, power systems, smart markers and total stations.Maintenance and Repairs of existing Dam Monitoring InstrumentationUpgrading existing Dam Monitoring Instrumentation as requiredSupervision of OEM technicians and unskilled labourParticipate and coordinate operational risk workshopsAssist the Dam Safety Specialist and RTFE when required with Dam Surveillance and Inspections.Ensure clearly concise documentation is maintained for all monitoring systems and inspections.
