Technical Services supports the University's teaching and research goals through practical expertise across a broad range of technical disciplines.About the opportunity Lead and develop innovative drone-based solutions, support and enable safe and compliant use and expansion of drone operations for research and teaching at UWA.Ensure compliance with Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) regulations, overseeing safe and effective operation of drones under UWA's Remotely Piloted Aircraft Operations Certificate (ReOC).Leadership in safe drone maintenance processes including training and support for UWA remote pilots, and contributing to and supporting drone operations for teaching and research.About you Relevant tertiary, technical or other qualifications and experience. A current CASA Remote Pilot License (RePL) for Strong technical experience with drones and associated equipment, the ability to lead maintenance operations including training and supporting others in safe drone use and maintenance.Proven organisational and communication skills to manage multiple priorities and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.Expertise in developing and implementing safety systems and ensuring compliance with regulations.Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment.Special requirements A RePL for RPAS types operated by UWA, and Aviation Radio Operators Certificate (AROC) is required, or the ability to obtain.A current National Police Clearance Certificate, Working with Children Check, and "C" class driver's license are required.How to applyPlease apply online via the Apply Now button.
