Key Responsibilities Lead, engage and develop theRegulatory City Compliance team, ensuring effective personnel management, inorder to achieve the best organisational and community outcomes in relation toservice delivery.Efficiently and effectivelymanage the functional areas of the Regulatory City Compliance Division forrequired service delivery outcomes and budgetary requirements including: o Environmentaland Development Compliance Services o Rangerand Regulatory Services o AnimalWelfare and Shelter Services o AnimalManagement and Compliance o EnvironmentalHealth, Regulatory and Companion Animal Education Ensure compliance withregulatory responsibilities under various Acts, Regulations, Codes andStandards including policies, practices and procedures, and licensing andstatutory reporting.Advise and recommend legalaction resulting from legislative breaches, and oversight for evidence andaffidavits for legal forums, briefing legal representatives and makeappearances in court as required.Lead and deliver on councilpriority projects that are assigned to the Regulatory City Compliance Division.Ensure actionsare consistent with Council'spolicies and plans, and importantlyensure that by proactiveintervention and excellent communication and negotiation skills, that developmentsdo not get to the enforcement and infringement stage where possible.Proactively manage operationaland service-related requests effectively and workacross all relevant Council Directorates and Divisions to ensure communicationis effective and the standards that Council require are met, with earlyintervention to arrest and resolve issues where possible before they escalate.Driveand maintain strong collaborative partnerships with internal and externalstakeholders to meet Council objectives and service delivery outcomes.Support the Director byproviding advice and reports in a timely manner.Ensure a rigorous approach tothe expenditure and management of public funds in carrying out all activitieson behalf of Council.Ensure the effectivemanagement of contracts relevant to the Division.Attend and participate inCouncil, committee, and community meetings, workshops and forums, includingthose held after hours, as required. Skills and Experience We are looking for experienced professionals with: Tertiary qualificationsrelevant to the role in regulatory services management, compliance or relateddiscipline and proven experience in a similar leadership position is essential.Demonstrated leadership experience includingthe ability to: odevelop and maintain a positive team culture; oeffectively manage staff performance; and oidentify and nurture talent.Substantial knowledge, understanding andexperience relevant to the role including: oRegulatory & animal welfare, oCompliance, oGovernance or related services and programs Highly developed communication (oral andwritten) and interpersonal skills including sound conflict resolution,negotiation, presentation, and facilitation skills.
