Now, inviting you to become a part of this incredible expedition as a Hydraulic Hose Technician About the Role: Replace hoses and fittings in accordance with OEM guidelines, specifications and regulations for correct product life expectancy, reducing the customer’s downtime. Prepare customer electronic quotes and estimates for materials (including quantities) and labour and then follow up customer for feedback. Ability to read and interpret plans and schematics of various heavy machinery, including mechanical engineering drawings and designs. Plan for customer site visits, including the maintenance of stock levels in companies’ mobile vehicles, selecting required tools for customer site visits and planning personnel. Conduct onsite repairs and preventative maintenance via the companies’ mobile vehicles at customer sites and breakdown locations. Carry out pressure testing of hoses and fittings in accordance with RS23 specifications. Undertaking data analysis of the pressure testing readings to identify maintenance and repair requirements, and the relevant tools and components required. Assist with routine maintenance on the companies’ mobile vehicles, ancillary equipment, and tools to ensure maximum availability of equipment for client sites based on rosters and schedules; Including the inspection of oil levels, safety switches, safety features, lighting, tyres etc. and that the vehicles are operational Ensuring tools are planned and prepared for client site visits (oil levels are correct and batteries charged). Maintain and develop customer relationships by identifying solutions, suggesting improvement methods and techniques, and recommending system improvements. This requires a good knowledge of customer hydraulic schematics and systems to diagnose and identify potential future issues so we can have a proactive approach to customer relationships. General workshop duties such as maintaining tools, setting up tools and keeping the workshop and tools in a neat and safe manner. Qualifications and Requirements: 2 years’ minimum experience in a similar role as a mechanical engineering technician or hydraulic technician Understanding mechanical engineering drawings and designs Medium Rigid Drivers’ License (Australian) Hydraulic hose and industrial fittings identification, including ability to identify various components in a hydraulic system Ability to diagnose faults and rebuild hydraulic components Strong knowledge of industrial and hydraulic fitting thread types Understand and perform high-pressure testing procedures Operate hose manufacturing equipment, including saw, crimper and pressure testing equipment At least Certificate IV in Mechanical Engineering or above (desirable) Prior experience in customer service and sales (desirable) Basic computer skills and professional phone manner (desirable).
