These trailers/vehicles are custom made to safely transport large loads all over Australia. The Engineering Division is engaged in manufacturing, research and development and continues to improve the fleet's capabilities. The manufacturing plant has patented designs that they develop and produce here in Australia.They now seek an experienced Motor Vehicle Parts and Accessories Fitter to join the in Strathalbyn in South Australia.The RoleThis is a full time role with an annual salary between $65,000 to $80,000 depending on experience plus superannuation.ResponsibilitiesInspect motor vehicles to determine parts and accessories needs, identifying defects or worn-out components.Fit motor vehicle parts and accessories, such as exhaust systems, roof racks, tow bars, windscreens, and seat covers.Install electrical components, including sound systems, GPS devices, and other electronic accessories.Align and adjust parts to ensure proper fit and compliance with manufacturer specifications.Tighten fittings to meet quality and safety standards.Utilize hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for tasks like windscreen fitting.Perform maintenance and repairs on damaged or malfunctioning parts to ensure proper functionality.Test and inspect fitted components to ensure they meet quality and safety requirements.Advise customers on the selection of parts and accessories based on their requirements.Provide cost estimates for parts and labour.Maintain records of installed or replaced components for service history and customer reference.The RequirementsAt least a Certificate 2 or formal qualifications in relevant fieldAt least 1 year of relevant experience gained in a commercial settingAt least 1 year of experience with over-dimensional agricultural, construction, or mining machinery componentsAt least 1 year of experience in fitting, assembling, and installing parts such as brakes, tires, axles, suspension systems, and hydraulic componentsAt least 1 year of experience in performing routine maintenance on heavy vehicles and machinery, including lubricating, cleaning, and inspecting partsFamiliarity with tools and equipment such as hoists, jacks, diagnostic scanners, and specialised fitting instrumentsKnowledge of workplace safety standards and practices, particularly for oversized equipmentExperience adhering to Australian road and transport safety regulationsAbility to communicate in a clear and understandable manner
