Positioned within the Customer function, you will work across all departments to provide strategic insight and support to the CEO and executive team. Your role is critical in ensuring that our strategic initiatives align with the bank’s purpose, vision, and goals, driving our growth trajectory and adapting to evolving market dynamics.You will lead the formulation of the bank’s long-term strategic plan, defining key priorities and objectives that align with our mission and market positioning. By developing frameworks to analyse internal and external factors, you will ensure that our strategic initiatives are data-driven and grounded in industry insights. Your collaboration with senior leaders and department heads will be essential in integrating strategic initiatives across the bank, facilitating cross-functional alignment, and ensuring that our strategic priorities support business objectives.In addition, you will oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives, creating and monitoring Outcomes and Key Achievement Measures (OKAMs) and performance metrics to track progress against goals. You will conduct thorough market and competitive analysis to inform strategic decision-making, leveraging insights from industry trends, competitor benchmarks, and regulatory developments. Your role will also involve identifying and assessing strategic risks and opportunities, integrating risk management into strategic planning to ensure resilience and adaptability.Key Responsibilities:Lead the formulation of the bank’s long-term strategic plan, defining key priorities and objectives.Develop frameworks to analyse internal and external factors, ensuring strategic initiatives are data driven.Collaborate with senior leaders and department heads to integrate strategic initiatives across the bank.Act as a key advisor to the CEO and executive team, facilitating cross-functional alignment.Oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives, creating and monitoring OKAMs and performance metrics.Conduct thorough market and competitive analysis to inform strategic decision-making.Leverage insights from industry trends, competitor benchmarks, and regulatory developments.Identify and assess strategic risks and opportunities, integrating risk management into strategic planning.Prepare and present high-level strategic reports and recommendations to the CEO, executive team, and board.Foster a collaborative environment where strategic goals align with organisational priorities and stakeholder needs.Drive a culture of innovation, adaptability, and forward-thinking.Ensure compliance with all policies, procedures, and industry standards.About YouThe ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or advanced qualifications preferred.Minimum of 10 years in strategy development, management consulting, or a related field.At least 5 years in a senior leadership capacity.Experience in financial services or comparable industries, with a strong understanding of market dynamics, regulatory requirements, and competitive pressures.Expertise in strategic planning, competitive analysis, and data-driven decision-making.Proven ability to work across departments and influence senior stakeholders to drive alignment and strategy execution.Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and regulatory considerations in strategy.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to deliver strategic insights to executive teams and the board.Demonstrated experience in mentoring and guiding teams, fostering a culture of strategic focus and accountability.About usTeachers Mutual Bank Limited is one of the largest mutual banks in Australia.
