Under the guidance of the Technical Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and research activities by ensuring that all spaces are maintained efficiently, safely, and in compliance with legislative and institutional policies.To be successful in this position, you’ll have:Experience and knowledge of scheduled drugs and poison legislation and regulations, including working with relevant regulatory and governing bodies to manage restricted laboratory spaces for work pertaining to controlled substances and their import or export.Proven knowledge and experience working within Biosciences (or Biological Sciences) / Biotechnology or Biomedical research laboratories/workspace settings.Proven laboratory operations and maintenance experience, preferably in a teaching or research environment.Demonstrated understanding of current OH&S legislation with knowledge of other field or industry regulations or standards related to the field within the scope of the service area.Proven initiative and problem-solving skills, highly organised, and the ability to work autonomously and in a team.Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and with a diverse range of people from various backgrounds.Demonstrated experience and understanding of working in accordance to the RMIT value statements or similar frameworks in other organisations.Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children, Medical Assessment and National Police Check.About the CollegeThe STEM College Office Professional staff provide exceptional and efficient support to the College.
