As a world leader in the design and manufacture of "on-the-move" satellite communication terminals, we are offering an exciting and innovative workplace with a talented workforce, creating opportunities to help grow your career.We currently have a unique opportunity for an experienced RF Engineer to join our highly skilled RF Group to deliver innovative and cutting-edge solutions.Key responsibilities:Design and simulation of electrical/electronic hardware part and products from component level to module level.Optimise component selections balancing performance, price and availability.Work with RF and mechanical engineers to achieve design objectives.Create accurate BOMs and provide quality documentation for manufacture and testing of products and systems.Assist when required with design verification and testing, including compliance to commercial and military standards, such as EMI/EMC and environmental.Help with test schedules and documentation (test plans, procedures and performance reports).Build test jigs and write test software.Assist the Defence Projects team with customer/program related issues.Provide support to the Production Engineering team with the introduction of new products.Required core skills and competencies:Knowledge of RF and microwave principles and practice.Skilled in PCB design techniques and using Altium software.Ability to use RF design software packages such as ADS or Genesys.A good understanding of electronic circuits especially EMI minimisation techniques.Exceptional time management and attention to detail skills.Work cooperatively in a team environment.Analytical and problem solving capabilities.Strong written communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency with MS Office suite.Experience / Qualifications we are looking for:Degree in Electrical/Electronics engineering.Familiar with RF test equipment including VNA, Spectrum analyser, Power meter, etc.
and ability to use test equipment to troubleshoot and problem solve complex RF systems.A few years' experience in the design of RF/microwave related hardware components is required.Experience in the design of system level concepts for satellite and other electronics equipment would be an advantage.Possession of, or the ability to qualify for, an Australian defence security clearance (baseline minimum, NV1 preferred).As part of the recruitment process, candidates will be required to confirm their right to work (Australian citizenship) and successfully complete pre-employment checks (professional references, police clearance, proof of qualifications and ITAR screening).
