Job Title: Firefighter
We are seeking dedicated individuals to help protect Montana wildlands from wildfire as part of our seasonal firefighting team.
Job Summary:
This is a temporary, seasonal position that involves physically demanding labor and working outdoors in various weather conditions. As a firefighter, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks, including fire suppression, equipment maintenance, and communication with dispatchers.
Duties:
* Perform various firefighting duties, including planning and directing the suppression of fires
* Serve as incident commander on wildland/urban interface and wildland (forest and range) fires
* Keep crew time records, enforce safety standards, and procure supplies
* Collect data for fire reports and assist in completion of reports
* Train and evaluate crew member performance and identify training needs
* Direct communication between fire and dispatcher, operate Type V Type VI fire engines
Requirements:
* Age 18 or older at time of hire
* Valid driver's license with less than 12 conviction points in the most recent completed 36 months
* Pass a physical fitness test within three weeks of employment, specifically the Pack Test
* Education: High school graduation or equivalent; two years of experience in wildland fire suppression with supervisory responsibilities
