About The Role:
We are seeking a Mine Geologist to join our Mining team based at our Atlas Mine near Balranald, NSW, approx. 1.5 hours east of Mildura. This is a permanent position working 4 days on /3 days off roster. This is a Bus-In Bus-Out (BIBO) role where you will stay at our village with meals and accommodation provided during whilst on site.
This position is accountable for grade control (mine) and interaction with the Mine Planners. You will perform pit inspections, carry out field mapping and interpretation and provide in-field feedback and guidance to operations. You will carry out grade control and reporting activities on a daily basis and will communicate potential geological risks to operations.
* Accountable for ore cut design and blending plan,
* Monitor grade on a daily basis to audit cut design
* Collect samples for lab analysis to test grade control and geological theory
* Participate in pit inspections
* Assist in field mapping and interpretation
* Assist in providing in-field feedback and guidance to operations (production)
* Influence Mining and Production teams for the best grade and mineralogical blend to the WPC
* Block model optimisation and production block model creation
* Geotechnical and hydrological auditing
* Top of ore design vs actual checks
* Base of ore design vs actual checks
* Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly reconciliation of grade and mineralogy
* Execute the mine design for top/base of ore and proactively managing variation that could cause dilution to mining system
About you
To be successful in your application you will ideally need to possess:
* Bachelors in Geology or similar discipline
* Competent in data recording, trending, analysis and interpretation – able to identify and communicate potential geological risks
* Sound knowledge of geology processes, technology and database
* Significant exploration geology experience in the Mining sector/ mineral sand industry
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Proficiency with geological software (e.g., Surpac, Micromine)
