About the Opportunity
As Operations Director, you will lead the strategic and operational performance of PBE Rutherford, aligning local operations with the broader vision of the global PBE Group. Reporting directly to the CEO, this pivotal leadership role oversees key business functions, including operations, engineering, procurement, HR, and finance.
You will shape the organisation's direction, inspire a culture of accountability, and enable teams to excel. Through a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement, you will steer initiatives that enhance performance, strengthen collaboration, and deliver lasting results.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide decisive and inspiring leadership across business functions to achieve organisational goals.

* Mentor and guide senior team members, fostering an environment where leadership at all levels thrives and high performance is the standard.
* Oversee day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless collaboration and optimal productivity across departments.
* Monitor financial performance, budgets, and expenditures, identifying opportunities for cost management and efficiency improvements.
* Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders, representing PBE Rutherford as a trusted industry leader.
* Champion a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with WHS and regulatory requirements.
* Drive the implementation of robust training, onboarding, and development programs to build team capability and engagement.
* Oversee risk assessments, develop and implement SOPs, and lead thorough investigations of workplace incidents.
* Establish performance monitoring frameworks and dashboards to enable proactive and informed decision-making.
* Lead the preparation of detailed tender submissions and manage off-tender job costing requests with precision and accountability.
About You
* Tertiary qualifications in business, engineering, or a related field are highly regarded.
* Extensive experience in a senior leadership role, ideally within technical, engineering, or industrial environments.
* Strong ability to inspire, mentor, and lead diverse teams to achieve high performance and productivity.
* Proven track record in strategic planning, operational efficiencies, and delivering measurable outcomes.
* Financial acumen, with experience managing budgets and analysing financial performance.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
