About the Role
The Estate Manager, Government House within Premier’s Department is responsible for overseeing all aspects of site operations at a heritage-listed property, including security, capital works, property maintenance, heritage building and collection conservation, public access, and visitor services.
Leading a dedicated team, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the site, ensuring the buildings, grounds, and collections are maintained to the highest standard and in compliance with relevant legislation and best practice.
The Estate Manager will:
o Manage critical relationships, such as with the NSW Police Force for 24/7 security services.
o Drive the planning and execution of complex capital works programs.
o Develop and implement strategic plans, oversee visitor services and public access initiatives, and ensure compliance with Work Health & Safety policies.
o You will have strong leadership and operational management skills.
o You will have experience in managing heritage-listed sites. Working within a conservation framework is essential, along with a solid understanding of relevant legislation, guidelines, and best practices for heritage building and collection management.
o You have proven strategic planning, project management, and budget management experience.
o You will have strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
o You will demonstrate proficiency in Work Health & Safety (WHS) and risk management.
o You will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills to navigate the complexities of managing a high-profile site in a dynamic and high-demand environment.
