We celebrate a ‘One Team Culture’, where bringing together diversity of thought and expression is key to building the best team to deliver excellent results.With the Cumberland Ecology recently joining us, our team in Sydney is now looking for a recently graduated or early-career ecologist with a couple years’ experience to work with the wider Ecology & Biodiversity team across New South Wales and Australia.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will have a true love for the outdoors and about to start or have commenced your career in ecology and a positive attitude to do the following tasks:Apply your knowledge of NSW flora and fauna to assist senior ecologists providing advice to clients, both in office and in fieldParticipate in field survey programs to collect a variety of different ecological dataSupport interpretation and application of environmental legislation to projects across a variety of different sectors under the guidance of more senior staffAssisting in preparing tenders and proposals, including development of budgets and resourcing plansSupport the team in studies, analyses, interpretations, conclusions and decisions and prepare reports outlining the findings of these studies, including but not limited to Biodiversity Assessment Reports in accordance with the Biodiversity Assessment MethodTravel to remote areas, including interstate, to conduct field survey programsSkills and experienceThe successful candidate must have:An appropriate tertiary qualification in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources or in another related fieldWorking knowledge of NSW flora and faunaScientific or consulting report writing and computer skillsIt is desirable the candidate has:1-2+ years' experience in an ecological role in the environmental consulting sector or an equivalent role in Government, including undertaking ecological surveys and report productionExperience in flora and fauna field surveys and monitoring programsFlora and fauna identification skillsKnowledge of and training in the Biodiversity Assessment MethodAbility to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasksProject management experience in relation to client management and budget controlOur benefitsWe are proud of our unique culture where we work together to collaborate on projects to get the best possible outcome for our clients.
